MapHey Guys,

Just a quick note.... After the best part of a month without securing any work, the flood gates have finally opened. I have three interviews next week, all for permanent jobs. I was also lined up for an interview with a contractor job for next week, and on Friday they actually found out about the other interviews and said, they wanted me to satrt next week - before an interview!

The Tuesday one is in the Isle of Wight working for GKN as a stress engineer, mainly hand calcs I am lead to believe. Wednesday is in Oxford working at McAlpine who deal with helicopters and I'd be working in a 'range of engineering roles'. I don't know the name of the company on Thursday, but it is down south, and it's only a company of about 10 employees. The contractor gig is at a company called HeathTechna Europe, which is in Camberley, about an hour from London, and I'd be doing stress engineering again.

So with any luck, by the end of next week I will have a new job, and probably be looking for a new place, either down south, or over in Oxford or in the western suburbs of London, closer to Camberley (She-Bu, Acton way...).

Other than that, not a whole lot else going on. Went and played some poker at the Monkey Puzzle pub and did okay. Finished 5th out of 30, and met the guy that runs the tournaments. He said I could run the tournaments when they get new pubs in the city, so there is a possible new job prospect too. But the true excitement was on the way home when I sat on a train that had a bum passed out on the floor in the middle of the carriage and smelt like he shat himself. Then, walking passed the church on the way home, I passed a couple 'coupling' in the front yard of the church, 3 feet from the footpath... I love my neighbourhood.

Today I got a haircut - after passing 12 hairdressers that dealt only in buzz cuts and weaves, all within 10 minutes of where I'm living, I finally found a 'normal' hairdressers. So with a new haircut, and a couple brand new suits, I am finally ready for a crack at a job!

Wish me luck!
