Location: Canada

MapToday Erin and I went to the BC Wildlife Park and went around and checked out the many different animals that you would normally see here in BC in the summer (Great Horned Sheep, Bison, Mountain Goat, Grizzley Bear, Elk, Moose, Deer, Snow Owl, Emu, Wolves, Cyotes, etc) The wolves were very interesting as they formed a pack and in their pack you could tell which one was the lead wolf. He was the biggest and moodiest of the bunch.

We went and checked out Sun Peaks Ski Resort which was a huge mountain, the biggest mountain I have seen to date. The drive was filled with soiling moments of being extremely close to the edge combined with being at very high elevations.

The weather is so messed up here in Kamloops as you go from snow at the top where Erin lives, and then the valley bottom where the city is it will be raining. The morning started out cold and then the fog rolled in, and you couldn't see anything, and then at around 4pm the fog lifts out of the valley and to the tops of the mountain and the sun peaks through. The weather out here is so unpredictable. It starts to get dark out here at around 4:15 and twilight usually lasts for about 45 minutes.

Though I live in the same country as people here, life seems so different. I'm enjoying it, I hope I get out skiing in the next week. I think of home often and miss my friends and family but I journey on knowing that I will be home soon enough.
