Location: Greymouth, New Zealand

MapWild West Coast

Today we left Nelson and headed for Greymouth, which was a very long journey, leaving at 8am and arriving at 5pm. Along the way we stopped off at a seal colony and the Punakaiki Rocks. The scenery here was a complete contrast to what we were used to from the last few days. The coastline was rugged, the sea choppy, sand black and sky dark. When we arrived in Greymouth it felt like being back home, with the dark clouds and drizzle. Our one night here was pretty uneventful being such a small place and with not much to do.
