Location: Nara, Japan

MapToday the Yanks and i took a day trip to Nara, Japan's capital during the Nara period (8th century). We visited the main sights. The five storied pagoda, the giant Buddah and the main shinto shrine. After visiting the Pagoda ( do you pronounce it pagoda or pa-goda??) we stumbled across an eco-fair. Ruby had to go to the washroom so we went on in. As Rocky and i were waiting a man told us to come into a room where high school students were giving presentations on how to make sushi, green tea and other traditional Japanese foods. What a lucky thing to find.

After that we made our way to see the Buddah and the various shrines in the area. The statue was HUGE; i'm not sure if one can tell from the pics.

We then strolled through some stores before making our way back to Osaka for some internet time and some food.

Tomorrow it is off to Seoul in the afternoon.
I'm going to go back to the hostel tonight and write up my final thoughts about Japan and hopefully post them tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone is doing well back home.
