Colin and Sue’s Travel Diary

Thursday, 17 Aug 2006

Location: Quito, Ecuador

MapWell here we are in Ecuador. It's been a really busy few days sorting out everything at home. It was great seeing people on Sunday, shame about the weather, first rain in weeks, hopefully it is not an omen for the trip, Colin expects rain for the first time ever in the Atacama Desert when we turn up there.

The trial pack lulled us into a false sense of security and we seem to have loads more stuff now although we're not quite sure what. Although fortunately it's all ended up in Colin's bigger bag which is now heavy and twice the size of mine.

We had a good journey although it was a bit disorganised at Heathrow so a last minute dash to the departure gate. We are staying at the Posada del Maple in Quito, a small hostal which seems fine. We are on the third floor and noticed the altitude carrying our bags up to the room.

Having fun with the keyboard, we needed someone to show us how to do @ which is alt64, no idea on brackets or dashes.
