Hi Tim Tam Tummy,
How lovely to hear your voice yesterday - it made my day. I actually have Skype on my computer - apparently it is better from computer to computer than computer to phone - so maybe next time we can try that way! Anyways, you made me laugh as usual and now I can picture you in PAI - probably no longer the sleepy town it used to be 7 years ago. When I first went there in 1995 - noone had heard of it and certainly noone trekked from there. It has AMAZING treks if you change your mind - go down the river to Mai Hong Son. We took a cooking course there and stayed in a shit hole called Bernie's - they had a Canadian flag on the door and we thought it was owned by a Canadian. No such thing! That was the place I had a tarantula INSIDE my mosquito net. DON'T stay there if it's still about - it was gross!! Anyways, great pics, looking forward to hearing more adventures - now you are in Thailand and internet is so cheap, I imagine you will be emailing more!! Miss ya
Hi Ruthie! Nice talking to you! How do you do Skype to Skype?? I think it is free! We have to figure this out! Anyway, happy Channukah! I am going to try and find the Chabad house in Chiang Mai and light a candle tonight! Love, T

Hi Tammy,

GREAT Pics (as usual)!!

I would love to live in the treetops. It looks so cool! I was just watching a TV show on Discovery Channel about a similar experience in Costa Rica.

It's great that you are meeting lots of nice people to travel with. I'm glad that you were able to shake off those who weren't good company.

Continue having loads of fun!!!

I have been to those ones in Costa Rica. They were also tons of fun! I am having a great time! Happy Channukah to you and your family! Love, T

Great photos. What's in a Shisha?
Thanks! A shisha is a water pipe that they put coals in and then they use flavoured tabacco and you smoke it. Anyway, I have to run now! Chat soon! Love, T

Have a very happy holidays. I miss your voice and talking to you on the weekends. I went to my first yoga class tonight, and it was good, but boy are my feet killing me. I am going to do yoga on Monday, Wednesday and Personal Training on Tuesday, Thursday. That should be a good start for getting ready for the Nepal trek.

Have fun.

No worries brother! You will be jogging up the mountain and I will be crawling! I will call you some time this week. I have to be on line at the right time! I have signed up for Skype so it makes things easier and cheaper. Happy Chanukah! Love, T

Hi Tammy,

So India is next on the long adventure! So at least being a jewish princess has allowed you to drop a few pounds from the local cuisine! We have had lots of snow this week and I was snowboarding atop the powder all day saturday! I have been doing my own travel to NY, Boston and San Fran (business and pleasure) but sure can't beat your locales! Miss you - be well.

Hey Barry! glad to hear you are having fun! No snow here. It is super hot today and i am melting! I will see you in sept sometime!! Chat soon, T

Moonar, the place you are going to is absolute heaven... it could not get more beautiful than that. You must hire a car and a driver when you are up there to take you around the rolling hills, just on a DRIVE. Just drive....
he should take you on some nice drives to see the tea plantations. If you don't you'll be missing out. ps. I fell in love in Munnar.
I am loving Munnar and spent the day hiking through the tea plantations! No car required! Love, T

Hey Tammela! I finally found some time to sit down and catch up with your blog. What a great year you're having! A fabulous adventure and some fabulous photos to prove it!

I'm cooking my cabbage dish for tomorrow Christmas dinner at my friend's place with her family. Tonight, I'm doin' the Jewish thing and heading down to the Bloor Y for their annual Chinese & a Movie - doncha just love Canada?!

All is good with me. The school year is zipping by.We had a really fine staff holiday luncheon on Friday...this year we opted for l/2 Italian & 1/2 Indian food - yum! People were in great spirit and Sandy Rufa ran some fun games so it all worked out well.

I'm hangin' in the Big Smoke over the holidays - lots of movies, dinners, friends. Also hoping to catch up on some household chores (boring but they've got to be done). Going to NY for the March Break.

Happy New Year, Tam. Hope the rest of the trip is as good as the first part has been.

Hey Sernick! Glad you are following along! I hope your holiday is restful! Love, T

Hello my own Pusscat, Wow what wonderful pics. I purred when I saw them. We are enroute, weather was rainy most of the day. Took the shorter route thru the Mtns. because there has been no snow--hope it stays like that--a half more mountain day. Truffles has been good. Thank heavens for 2 drops of rescue remedy. We are going out to dinner now. You look wonderful.
xo Mom & Dad
I hope the rest of the drive went well! Things on the island are good! Hot and suny! Just the way we like it! Blog to come! Love, T

Happy New Year Tim Tam No Tummy - WOW, you look fabulous in the pics - I'm jealous!! Just got back from our cruise - it was AMAZING - we had the best holiday ever since the kids have been born!! REALLY relaxing, the kids had a blast and we enjoyed every minute. Of course, we ate WAY TOO MUCH and I gained at least 5 pounds! So much for you being my motivation..... I'm going the wrong way on the scales!!!!Anyways, take care of yourself and looking forward to hearing your next adventures from Sri Lanka. Lots of love from us all, Ruthie xxx

Hi Tams,

Your pictures are amazing (as always). Glad you're having so much fun!

Things are good here - busy as usual, which is why I haven't written in a while. We had a snow storm last week and the drive home was lots of fun - that Avenue Road hill always creates a huge back up. Remember years ago when I came over to your (parents') home on Avenue Road during just such a snow storm??

I was supposed to be in Thunder Bay for a trial starting tomorrow (Tues. March 6), which was to last 1 month but we settled, so now I get to stay here - yeah!!

Last week was my birthday and after the girls sang "Happy Birthday" to me, Madeleine asked me how old I am. When I told her, she responded, "wow.... that's millions and millions". Nice to know my 3 year old thinks I am millions of years old.

The girls had their Purim parade at school today and I was the resident paprazzi - with a video and a camera taking pictures and video footage on request from other parents.

By the way, your email made me cry (and I am not an overly emotional person). It was very nice.

Anyhow, this is getting long, so have fun and stay safe!

Hey Mila! I thought about you on your birthday! Had very good intentions of emailing, then didn't! You are one of few friends whose b-days I actually know! Glad you settled couldn't imagine a month in Thunder Bay in the middle of March! NOT FUN! I am sure the kids were adorable on Purim. I was beginning to wonder where you were. You had been so good about writing! Well, glad to hear from you! Chat soon, still loving every minute! And your not millions and millions of yrs old just one million maybe! :) Hugs to all of you! T

Same same but different is our favourite saying - we've been using it since Asia days!
Have fun in Sri Lanka, can't wait to hear about it. We went on a Mexican cruise - Acapulco, Ixtapa, Porta Vaillarta and Cabo San Lucas.
Went with my brother and family, and it was great!

Hi Tammy!

Happy New Year!!

I am back from a nice 2 week break where I did nothing!!

I mostly stayed up late and slept in late. The weather in T.O. has been so nice that I went urban hiking a few times. I didn't realize how many parks there are in the city.

I am taking a couple of continuing education courses at George Brown College next month to expand my horizons a little. The courses are in copywriting and I am very excited about them.

Lee Parr (formerly Birbrager) just gave birth to a boy at 9:00 pm New Year's Eve. I was at the Bris this morning. His name is Daniel Brandon and he is very cute.

I love the pics (as usual).

Take Care!

Hey Michael! Glad you are excited about going back to school! It has been awhile! Glad you took some time off as well. It was much deserved I know how hard you have been working! Things here are great. I am in an excellent head space. I too took a vacation from my vacation. And even though you all laugh it was much needed! Travelling can be exhausting and sensory overload! Good luck in school. Love T
