Hi Beastie,
Where are you now? We were out with Rose-ann and Revin and twin etc.and I saw a book in that great store, Seldom Seen on Los Olas Blvd. "1000 Places to see Before you Die" Many that were listed were in India--soo I guess only about 899 more to go. Carry on seeing all.
Darryn arrives tomorrow. Cleaning lady came today to "de-cat" the condo. And I have arranged the Back room at The Creperie for a group of us to welcome him.
Awaiting your next Blog, love your descriptions.
Hugs, Mom
Hey Mom! Give me enough time and I will see all 1000! India is mind blowing as always. Blog to come! Love, T

Your adventures sound amazing. Winter has finally arrived here. I will use my new power snow shovel today. Am enjoying retirement, especially my grandchildren (6 now) Missed you at the book club. Keep well.
I have been reading tons! I will be ready for next years book club! I miss the chatting and gossip. Glad you are enjoying retirement, what's not to enjoy! Love, T

Hi Tams,

The pics are amazing and you look great. When Sasha saw the pics of you with the tiger, the 1st thing she asked me was whether the tiger was dead. When I replied that he was very much alive, she looked at me (with open mouth) and then said "isn't that very dangerous?"... out of the mouths of babes.

Glad to hear you're having a good time. Things are good here but busy. Ian was away for 1 week (L.V. and L.A.) and just got back on Saturday night (Jan.13).

It turned cold here yesterday (Jan. 15) and we had a "minor" storm but of course, no one was prepared, even though its January. It is quite cold today, but we've been pretty lucky so far and it was bound to happen.

Keep having fun and stay safe.

Glad to be missing winter! It definitely decreases the home sickness! Petting tigers is only a little dangerous! Travelling on the buses in some of these countries is a lot more dangerous! They drive like maniacs! Chat soon! Love, T

Hey my sweet girl! I will return soon enough! Maybe you guys will come meet me in Western Canada in July! That would be good fun! Hugs and Kisses! T

Hey Dav! Long time no hear! Still travelling I see unlike your very settled sister! The Gibbon Experience was great. Look it up on line under "Gibbon Experience" it is in Laos which is one of my favorite countries so far. Thailand is easy you are an experienced backpacker you can do it with your eyes shut! Happy travels! Always needs suggestions about India! Nervous as hell! Love, T

Dear Tammy,

Glad that you are having sucha good time.

I look like I swallowed a basketball! Sam is getting more precocious by the day. Much more talkative than you remember, and asking tons of questions.

Still not ready for baby - no room, no name. She'd better stay put for a while.

Hope that things continue to go well. Missing you. Wondering what we can do when you return here that will measure up to baby elephants. At least the food will seem familiar to what you've gotten used to!

Your funny Judy! I don't know a real baby is pretty exciting! Anyway glad you are all well! CHat soon! Love, T
From Natalie - Monday, 22nd January 2007, 17:58 (GMT)
you are worrying over nothing. you don't have to be tough for India. it was fine for me and i'm a pussy.
First, you were on an organized tour! Second, you were sick the enitre time! Third by the time I hit the month of April India will be 40 degrees and up and you all know how I feel about the heat! Other than that, the noise, pollution, over population and constant harassment are what is making me nervous! Either way, ready or not here I come! Chat soon, Love, T

hey Tams,
You sound sooooo great!
Quite the adventure.
Hope the thighs are better! Just think of the shape you're going to be in at the end of the year!!! What a bodacious babe you'll be!!!
Anyway, all is well here. My course is just about over. One more class and then my big exam on Saturday! Wish me luck!!! I'll need it! And then all you have to do is send me some customers my way!!!! School is apparently the easy part! Oy.... ok. back to the books. Only a few days to go.
Have fun! Enjoy yourself and keep safe.
Love sarah
Hey Sarah, good luck even though you don't need it I am certain you will do fine! Yeah finding customers is definitely the hard part. By the way for those of you who haven't followed my good friend Sarah is on her last course and is about to be a full fledged Realestate agent so if you are in the market for a house she may be able to help you out! Hi Weenis!
Sorry it's been so long since i've written but work got busy again and now i'm in full force working and trying to make decisions about the condo. What colour should the walls be? Carpet or wood in the bedroom? Furniture--new or old? Dark or light? I'm SO not good at this!!! I've even started to watch those tv shows on small spaces and designing! Eek! It's freaking me out!
I'm in Calgary right now, and having a great time though the job itself didn't go so well. The weather here is incredibly (read: i'm LUCKY) warm, and the men here are very manly. I like it (the scenery) a LOT! Billy Joel is coming to town in April and I got floor tix. See how exciting life is? Uch, while i'm not into all your travel destinations, it beats this working thing. Keep it up, thanks for the mention (i'm honoured!) and since you brought up our big walk...are you in for the WEBC 07? I've got a spot all warm for you in my tent! My email will be going out soon, you'll be sure to receive a copy. Please be a Mel's Belle again this year! You're in such great shape it'll be easy for you! And your stories will surely keep us all going! Think about it.
I miss you!! Love, Slana
Hey Slana! I can only imagine your apartment stresses, I feel the same way about decorating! Cringe!! I have always leaned towards light and bright but who knows. As far as WEBC I know I am in great shape but not ready to fundraise while I am away! I will be there to cheer you on and walk some of the walk beside you! But not the entire thing, sorry! However, 2008 count me in! Chat soon, Love, T

So Joshua loved your folks once your dad took off his glasses. Funny how that scares a kid. It was great seeing them...and they miss you so do we. We are heading back up north tomorrow...not looking forward to the cold.
Hard to believe Josh is already one! Crazy! Time flies when you're having fun! Of course they miss me while I am away, and I drive them totally crazy while I'm at home! Funny how that works! I am really enjoying Sri Lanka and can't believe I will be in India in just over a week! Chat soon, Love, T

Hi Beastie,
We have been having 5days of frequent internet disconnects. We stayed home all day today waiting for the Comcast Technician and, of course, he came at the latest possibility. So for 5 days no mail, no scype and no Boggle. ARRgh! Showing everyone your tiger pics and if they are still interested, I continue with some other highlights. Everyone says "So Brave"
Dad is sending you an email with some pics from Joshua's B-Day Party.
Last night, a very nice gathering at Myra's for hors d'oeuvres in her condo, then Allen treated us all(10) to dinner in the club.
Tonight a 2nd Canasta lesson.
On Sunday, Gerry & Barry will come for the day after their cruise. (Super-Bowl is here in Miami on Sunday-Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears--big news both have Afro-Amer. coaches)
Monica De Jersey's Mom and Susie Siegal's Mom passed away last week.
Good Luck on your travels.
As always you sound busy! Comcast has given you sooooo much grief over the last two years! Enjoy the superbowl. Forgot it was this week! CHat soon, Love, T

Hello Tamarra - I work with Darryn and he showed me your blog. He probabaly was trying to make me jeaouls telling me that you were traveling around the west of Ireland. As I write this, you are probably just getting done with a music and drinking session in Doolin. Of course you are now getting on to the better parts of Ireland as you travel up the west coast. Make sure to see the Cliffs of Moher, Galway City, Clifden, Westport, Climb the Reek, Connemara, Donegal, and i could go on. It's the wild west and most traditional part of Ireland. Have a blast! E-mail me if you need any recommendations!

Guinness for Strength

- Kevin
thanks Kevin, I have heard of many of the places you are talking about, arriving in Doolin today! Then heading up the west coast and across. If I need suggestions I will be in touch! T

Hi Tams, my company has now left.. and my house is too quiet. Lisa is doing very well, she is coming home on the 17th ,but bringing friends with her. I encouraged her too. They are probably going to go to New York City after. Can you believe this.. she doesn't even need me anymore.

Take care.

Love ya

Hi Tams,

The beach sounds really good about now. Oh well - at least the groundhogs all agree that spring is on its way.

We went to Great Wolf Lodge for a couple of days with Dave, Stacie and their kids (it is a hotel in Niagra Falls with a giant, indoor waterpark). Sasha asked if we could stay there forever.

We also took the girls to see the falls - it is really incredible to see in the winter with all the ice, rushing water and amazing rainbow. They loved it!

Madeleine really liked your pictures - especially the elephants, I couldn't turn the computer off.

Glad you're having fun.

Keep safe!

I think Sarah went to that hotel with her kids! Sounds like fun! Nice to get away even if it isn't that far away from home. Nice change in routine. I am sitting at the airport waiting for a plane (late as usual)! Chat soon. Love, T
From Darryn - Sunday, 4th February 2007, 18:08 (GMT)

I am so glad you are having fun. I am good with staying in the Hostel, but I would also like to spend time with my contact in Kathmandu. I have several thoughts - not all related:

1) We can meet in Deli and spend the night there. I WILL BE GETTING A HOTEL in Deli to spend the night after my 15 hour plane are welcome to come join me. Then we both fly to Kathmandu.

2) You can get to Kathmandu before me and get the extra info at the hostel and then meet up at my contact's place.

3) We both stay in a hostel in kathmandu and then I meet up with my contact on the way back.

Let me know your thoughts.

Good choices but no good answers! If India gets toooooo hot I may escape to Nepal early. I may cross over land or maybe by plane. I guess I won't know until April! I am fine staying with your friend if I need info I can find some tourists. While we are shopping for my winter clothes I am certain we will meet people! Chat soon! Love, T

Ellesa and Michael just had a baby boy:

7 pounds, 11 oz, 20 inches, lots of hair and "his Dad's nose"

Sue Spitz is out in Seattle with Ellesa and at last report everyone is healthy.

Maxel Tov! Very exciting! And SUsan is a gramma!

Hi Tammy!

As usual your photos are amazing. Glad you were able to be a beach bum for a while.

I just finished the first of three copywriting courses I'm taking at George Brown. I loved every minute of it, especially since there were no assignments and to pass all I had to do was show up. The next one will be more intense with assignments and grades.

We celebrated my dad's 80th birthday Friday night at my uncle's house. It was very nice, my dad was very happy.

Enjoy you introduction to India!!

That's great Michael. Happy B-Day to your dad! I love that man! He is soooo cute! I am glad you are enjoying the courses. Trying not to think about school, easier said than done! Love, T

Hi My Adventurer,
Dharmasala sounds like a real treat--good weather and sight (site)-seeing and interesting people. That was a lucky photo-op--your own pic of the Dalai Lama.( for the Fridge??)
Spent a few hours with Diana today but because of a major traffic snarl, the movie and the dinner were revamped to coffee, chat and browsing thru Chapters at Bayview Village.
Tomorrow supplying at DSS.1st day back. Very little tan to show off-- I went white when it snowed for a week after we got home.
Love you and hugs
SOrry about the snow! I would love a little snow as I have been sight seeing in Delhi in 40 degree heat! UGH! I have lots to share. CHat soon. Blog to come! BIg hugs! T

Tamara...what an adventurer you are! When you're old and sitting in that rocking chair, on the porch, in the sun, you will have the most amazing stories to tell. Good for you that you're doing it all. If not now, when? Hope you're enjoying your brother and hiking.
Your mom told me the story of your camera and I almost cried with joy for you. I sure know how you felt when you thought it was gone.

I did cry! Right there and then! I was sick at the idea of losing all those pics. And I had finally figured out this camera! All is well. Take care! T
