Yes, you DEFINITELY have no choice but to go with the flow. Hampi is soooo cool. I hate Holi, and all the colours for the very reason that you are mentioning... the colour doesn't come out. my friend had pink hair for like 2 weeks after. I usually try to hide on Holi. Love the details! Do they still have those teacup saucer type boat thingies made out of straw that float you across the river in hampi? that's how we did it in the old days when i was there...(9 yrs ago)
They have a motor boat now, and the guy is definitely the richest man in Hampi as far as I can tell! 10rps, 15 with luggage, 50 with motor bike etc. And hundreds of people cross back and forth everyday! I saw the saucers, you can still cross that way at the other end of the river! HAMPI RULES! Of course you know as well as anyone how much I love stuff like that! Right up my alley! I like my new highlights!

HI T.
Dylan had an amazing day at OFSAA. I am disappointed that I didn't make it on time to see any of his swims (I had classes and no supply). Well there is always next year!
Dylan was 8th in prelims for 50 free (he just barely made it to finals) and ended up winning the GOLD! He won 2nd in Butterfly. He lost to the swimmer he beat at City Finals.
You win some you lose some.
I guess you and I have something to look forward to next year.
that's all for now
D
WOW! That's soooo amazing! How exciting for Albert Campbell! Chat soon, T

Love that "painted woman". I hope the colour will be out by the time you get home. Doing the usual Florida things, golf, maj, and EATING. The weather here has been good. Darryn is visiting a week Sat. Looking forward to seeing him. Gerry's going home today, and Carolyn and kids came yesterday, Aaron to follow. They are going on a cruise on the 134,000 ton Royal Carribs new ship. Hope to catch up with them when they get back. Darryn and they will overlap one day.

As always sounds good! Hugs to all! Love, T

Hey Tammy,

Love the pics!! You look GREAT!!

Unfortunately I didn't get the job at the digital cable TV station. However, I am waiting to hear about another job that I had two interviews with.

Met up with some people from my graduating class at CHAT last night. We are organizing a reunion. I can't believe that it has been 20 years since our graduation. Everyone looked pretty much the same just a couple were balder and greyer. Everyone said that I looked almost exactly the same as I did during high school.

It was a blast seeing everyone and working on plans for the reunion.

My cousin's Bat Mitzvah was very nice (I missed having you as my date though). The party was on the 8th floor of the Simpson Tower (very nice) and the theme was Marti Gras because it fell on the eve of Purim.

I am glad you are having a blast. Talk to you later.

Love,

Sheinman
Sorry about the job! The reunion sounds fun! Sorry I missed the party, I am sure it was a blast! Hugs, T

Hi again...I'm so excited to be reading your blog now that you're in India...you are almost following in my footsteps, except you're going backwards. Isn't India fantastic? All the things you're saying, I have experienced. Will you be going to Jesailmer in the North? (Jesailmer Fort, a living Fort, not just a tourist site.)If so, I'd like to send you a picture of a boy that I wish I took home, but that wasn't possible. If you come across him, and I'm sure you will, because he speaks English and approaches all the white tourists, I'd be happy to get his address to be in touch with him and watch his progress as he grows, and perhaps help him too. He's about 10 years old. Aren't the children amazing wherever you go?
Hi Valla, I am going to Jaisamier. You can send the photo to my hotmail account. tammyweinstein@hotmail.com I am really loving India!
From Keely - Sunday, 11th March 2007, 15:38 (GMT)
Loving every minute of your blogs... I almost feel as though I am right there with you! Now you can see what I've been talking about all these years! I just got off the phone with Sohail... he is in Dharamsala and I told him u are coming. I'll give you his cell phone number when you are closer.
Try to write MORE! I love it!
Funny how I hadn't heard a peep from you before India and now you are miss chatty Cathy! Still wish you were here. It would have been fun to see something new together! Hugs, T
From Brondell - Sunday, 11th March 2007, 15:44 (GMT)
Dear Tamarra,
Hadn't read your blog for awhile. It is so interesting. Your adventures sound so exotic and a far cry from TO especially in winter which finally arrived. Purim (and Indian celebration) sounded like quite an experience. Keep well
I have been to synagogue three shabbots in a row! Not sure what the next one will bring! Nice to meet Jews from around teh globe! Love, T

Great photos - I would have had a blast partaking. I definitely think we should start the tradition here.

We had my mom and aunt's 65th. b-day party yesterday. I think I should change my career to event coordinator, I'm getting good at it.

The weather this past weekend was fantastic - just as I was getting ready to find the groundhog who incorrectly predicted an early spring...but maybe it's starting now...?? Here's hoping.

Missing you...Jan-Jan.
Hi Jan Jan! What did you guys do for their b-days? How's being back at work? Hugs Love, T
From Mila - Monday, 12th March 2007, 22:24 (GMT)
Hi Tams,

You look GREAT!!!! I love the pictures - are you still multi-coloured???

Glad you're having fun.

Things are good here - Sasha got her level 2 and 3 in swimming. Madeleine is still in Salamander and told her instructor 2 weeks ago "I don't want to practice, I only want to play".

Ian got the okay from his doctor (about his wrist) which is good news, because the doctor initially had some concerns about it. Yesterday (Sunday, March 11) Ian played his 1st hockey game in almost 5 months.

Keep having fun and stay safe!

Love,

Mila
I think the hair may stay red forever, or until it grows out! I have washed it sooooo many times! I am glad one of your children is a little fish! Great summer jobs! T
From Sarah - Tuesday, 13th March 2007, 20:24 (GMT)
Look how skinny you look at the fish market!!! You look fantastic!!!! You're going to disappear by the time you get back!
Life here is good. I am now working at Forest Hill Real Estate and I just sent out my little announcement letter to everyone I know telling them that I've started. Now the networking begins and hopefully I'll get some business. Time will tell!
Purim was fun... David decided at the last minute to be one of the star wars characters... I had to convince him to be one of the human ones!!! So out came my sewing machine and I made him a great Obi-wan Kenobi costume!! He was adorable! Karen went as a doctor -- David's costume that I made 2 years ago!!!
Anyway, other than that, all is well... Hopefully I'll see you online one of these days. Happy travelling! And don't open any doors!
Love Sarah
BUsy and fun as usual! Hope you sell your first home soon! Love, T

Hi T
I hope this is okay for me to send this message to you:
I was wondering no one is stepping up to convene Swimming for next year. I was thinking maybe we could do it together? what do you think?
If you are absolutely against the idea then I will decline.
I f you think it is something either you or I could do with help from the other person than I am considering it.
We don't need to answer immediately.
They need someone to step up before or at the the Pre-season meeting or Scarborough will not have swimming.
Heather is a definite no because she has teh VB OFSAA thing to organize.
What are your thoughts on this?
I know I feel weird even asking you because you are so far away and should not have to make these kind of decisions while on your 4/5 I just thought I would give you some time to think about it and if the answer is no then that will give other people time to re-consider.
I hope all is well.
D
Sorry Denise! Adjusting to being back in Toronto will be more than enough on my plate! Convening Swimming is a huge job! Thanks for the offer!

Sounds great... I loved those hot springs... we stayed a couple of days there just to relax our weary bones and eat those special Himalayan banana breads and carrot cakes!
Sounds good! Maybe I will see you in India!

Wow, Weinstein... you are rockin' Indochina. I am really happy that you have decided to take a year-round vacation. I took a glimpse of all the pictures that you've posted and I was in awe. A few days ago, i visited Downsview, I spoke to Laura and she was kind enough to let me in on your tour. Hopefully all goes well, have a safe trip with what is left-over, and after your return we can see each other. Take care!
Hey Kasim! I can even picture your face! You left a lasting impression! :) Maybe one day you will take an adventure like mine! It is a fantastic experience! What are you doing now?? Is it good? T

Hi Tammy,

Happy Passover!! How was the Seder with 400 travelling Jews? I bet it was a great experience.

We had the first Seder at my Parent's place and of course I was totally stuffed by the end.

Tonight my uncle is hosting a huge seder at Oakdale Golf & Country Club for his extended family. That will be an experience. I think there will be about 50 people there.

The job search continues with second interviews. I will let you know if I get an offer. I can sense a good job that pays well just on the horizon.

That's basically it. Hiking season is fast approaching. Rattlesnake Point here I come.

Keep having FUN!!!

Love Sheinman
I went on a great hike yesterday and was rewarded with a beautiful waterfall that I could swi in! Fun! Happy Passover to you and your family! Happy Hiking! Love, T
From Mila - Friday, 6th April 2007, 01:28 (GMT)
Hi Tams,

I'm exhausted just reading your stories, although the past week has been crazy here.

We drove to Montreal on Saturday, after Sasha's dance class, arriving in Montreal at 10:00 p.m..

We had the 1st Seder in Montreal on Monday night, then left for Toronto on Tuesday morning, came home, got ready for the Seder and had the 2nd Seder in Toronto with my family.

School was still closed on Wednesday, so I stayed home with the girls and then went to work today (Thursday, April 5) for 1 day - tomorrow is Good Friday.

It snowed today, just a tiny bit, but of course everyone forgot how to drive in the 2 weeks its been nice, so there were accidents all over the place and it took me 2 hours to get to work - ridiculous.

Have fun and post some pictures already.

Love,

Mila
Sorry about the pics! Hopefully today! Winter is almost over! I am up in the mountains now and I have just seen snow for the first time in 12 months! CRAZY! Love, T
From Mila - Tuesday, 29th May 2007, 02:21 (GMT)
Hi Tams,

I read your email, good to hear from you. I think we've been in touch more since you've been away than when you're here!

Sounds like you have been busy the last 24 days (and I've been going through "blog withdrawl")! I'm looking forward to the more extended version of the trek.

Fantastic pictures - as usual.

Things are good here - busy as usual. I was supposed to be in St. Catharines starting today for a 3 week trial, but it settled so I am home - yeah! Since the time was marked off in my calendar, I was going to take next week off, but now things have become very busy and I don't know if I'll be able to manage that. Oh well!

Hope you enjoyed your steak dinner!

Love,

Mila
No vacation for Mila! I will put my feet up for a day in your name, how's that!!! Not the same I know! :) Glad to hear all is well. Chat soon! Love, T
