Hi John! so sad to miss that Asda JBP... I did feel slightly incomplete on the 2nd Nov. perhaps thats what was wrong? I can only imagine what your brain is thinking of with the idea of a Secretary Bird! You, me a secretary bird? It must be Pimm's o'clock!
From Mum and Dad - Thursday, 1st November 2007, 18:49 (GMT)

Hello Clare. Shocked to hear that you are actually on your travels already. I hope you're having a great time, although I'm sure it will be marred by knowing that you didn't say goodbye to me. Don't you know who I am!

In all seriousness, it sounds like you're having an ok time, but obviously not as much fun as being here! Will email you soon with goss. Keep having fun.

Hey there Clare,
Hope it's all going swimmingly - sounds fantastic. Make the most of the lovely weather while we freeze and get (potentially) washed away back in Blighty. Things here are the same as usual, nothing interesting to report really.

See you
E
Thanks Em! yeah I heard the weather has gone a bit chilly over there... I'm annoyed actually, I had to put a jumper on the other day.... I didn't sign up for jumper weather!

From Jo - Sunday, 25th November 2007, 23:13 (GMT)
Hi Clare-bear,

I hope you are thoroughly enjoying yourself in Africa and can't wait to see some photos! I have been keeping an eye on the blog and it sounds amazing. We are both very jealous!!

We have been busy with parties and DIY since you left, both Lucy's and Chris's parties went well. We had a poker night for Mike's 30th the other week which was quite low key but very good fun. Mum and Dad have been up quite a bit and will be joining us again this week - they have been a huge help with the DIY and with any luck by the time you return the house might even look normal!!

The wedding is booked for Saturday 9th May 2009 and we very much hope you will be able to attend. We have hired exclusivley for 24 hours an 18th century manor house complete with croquet lawn and putting green, so should be good fun.

Please post some pictures, it would be great to see some of the animals, scenery, and of course you! Oh and update this blog!!!

Love Jo xxxx

Wow! sounds brill... of course I promise to be there if there's Croquet! As long as Mike doesn't bloody win... he seems to be good at these sort of things!
From Lady companion - Thursday, 29th November 2007, 12:49 (GMT)
Your benefactor has agreed I'm to be paid in full before my departure so I will be pleased to accompany you around India. I have been advised my tasks are to include pretending to be your 'old friend from back home', being sycophantic at all given opportunities, paying you aggrandizing complements when in company of gentlemen suitors, upholding the untruth that you are a famous movie star , who's left the UK to go incognito and carrying your bags. (the latter I will do my best to achieve with the stooped back I have acquired from a lifetime of lackying - I have my stick.) Pleased to let me know the items you shall be requiring me to bring from the Motherland. Yours faithfully, Your Lady Companion (The contract entitles you to call me by whichever name most serves your ladyship's purposes. Perhaps something tawdry like Mildred might work?)
Mildred it is.... you wierdo!
From Toby - Tuesday, 11th December 2007, 15:48 (GMT)
What-ho Tilbers!

Stop pratting around and get back to Blighty to earn a proper living!
We have thunderstorms here too you know!!
Thanks for that useful comment Toby....bet you don't often find yourself peeing under a tree in them though do you? Do you realise I've now heard people other than you use the term Memsahib but in the right context?

Hi Clare
Walking with lions - what next - there will be something else equally spectacular in a future blog - I don't doubt for a minute.
Glad you have having such a great time and have met lots of new friends.
Will keep checking to see what you are up to.
Just wondering how you will spend Christmas Day...?!
Love Sylvia
Thanks Sylvia!

Just arrived at my Xmas spot actually, a lovely place on the beach in Kerala... just have to find a cheap guest house for 10 days and I'm in business! Hope you are revving up for a fun xmas period too?

Hello gorgeous!

Well aren't you just having a dandy time of it.

Swimming with elephants - that's nuts! I can't believe how many amazing animals you are coming into close contact with - I thought Africa trips normally involved hours of waiting for something to never appear!

Needless to say I am missing you - but much rather you were out there doing what you are doing!

Vic
xxx

PS. Gerard says hello and hopes you are having a good time.
hello my dear boy! You know he prefers to be called Gerry but I'll try to let that one go!

Hope you and Matt have a lovely xmas and sorry I couldn't make your last show, it was right before I left and things were a bit manic!

From Dan Stone - Sunday, 30th December 2007, 17:18 (GMT)
Hey Clare. How you doing? Souns like you're having a wonderful time!!

It's Dan Stone here and I'm flying into Cochin on 6th Jan for a few months travelling. Can't wait!! I think youre mum and my mum are hatching maternal plots and are quite keen that we meet up for our collective safety.

I'm planning to spend a little time chilling around Kerala / Cochin before slowly wending my way north, so if you're anywhere nearby and fancy seeing a friendly face (or a beer), let me know..

Hope I enjoy my trip as much as you are yours!

Dan
Hi Dan! good to hear from you... I agree we are the unwitting victims of a maternal plot! I'll drop you an email with my plans and we'll see if we can't raise a glass to 2008 soon..

Cheers! Clare
From Graham Northfield - Friday, 4th January 2008, 13:31 (GMT)
Happ New Year clare-bear! Hope you had a good festive season. I am enjoying the tales of your travels & to be honest I am slightly jealous - your photos look amazing. You went to a place called Cochin. Heh Heh...
Thanks Graham!
Not only have I been to Cochin, but there is a Blockbuter film here called Jism (think it means something else in Hindi) and an actress called Madhuri Dixit - they pronounce the x which a ksh noise..!
From Jane - Sunday, 6th January 2008, 07:38 (GMT)
Happy New Year to you wherever you are. No blog since 24 December, getting desperate now, want to know what you've seen and heard and done. Please please blog as often as you can, it's so interesting to us stuck at home in an English winter.
Jane xx
Sorry Jane! am on now so will write an update - though the computer is rubbish so no photos today I'm afraid... they will be on their way. Happy New Year to all at Pyewell Cx
