Location: Argentina

6 Apr 2006, 11:08AM

...more Perito Moreno Glacier...

6 Apr 2006, 10:31AM

Perito Moreno Glacier about an hour out of El Calafate - we didn´t get the best day for it!

7 Apr 2006, 11:31AM

Our first view of 3400m Monte Fitz Roy (named after the Captain of Darwin´s ´Beagle´). The peak to the left is Cerro Poincenot (3002m).

...and more Perito Moreno Glacier.

7 Apr 2006, 3:03PM

Brilliant Autumn colours in Parque Nacional Los Glaciers.

7 Apr 2006, 2:47PM

Off the bus to a quick repack and straight onto the trail to take advantage of the beautiful weather.

7 Apr 2006, 4:29PM

Morning sun warming Fitz Roy...and us!!!!!

8 Apr 2006, 8:56AM

After a treacherous dawn hike to the look out (and nearly being blown off the cerro by the ´Furious Fifties´) we were rewarded with great views like this of Laguna Sucia below Glacier Rio Blanco and Cerro Poincenot.

8 Apr 2006, 4:57PM

Evening shot looking over the Glacier Torre valley towards 2900m Aguja Egger with Cerro Torre the big guy in the foreground shrowded by clouds / mist.

8 Apr 2006, 1:09PM

More brilliant Autumn colours as we treak through the middle section of the walk along Laguna´s Madre and Hija.

9 Apr 2006, 12:22PM

Finally, 3102m Cerro Torre (on the left) came out from behind the clouds - apparently Torre is visible 50% less often than Fitz Roy (who can also be very fickle), so to get both we were extremely lucky.

9 Apr 2006, 8:40AM

Sunrise looking over Laguna Torre at the foot of Glacier Torre and Cerro Torre (again in clouds!).
