New Years in Tokyo

Location: Japan

most stores, shops, hotels, restaurants, places of business have some for of bamboo decoration outside of the door- this is a big usually seen at bigger places.

Snowed the night before I left- this is the view from the windows outside my bedroom door! It's better in real life but that's the best I can do for a pic.

Where are all the people!??

Tokyo- near akihibara- the electric district where you can find cheap electronics

musicians at a shrine on New Years day. They played the entire time we were there....not too sure how long the play for.

This is the group of people I met in Tokyo and celebrated New Years with. Zak, Emily, Sara, Mia, Aki, Rebecca, and Anthony.

This path follows the river from where we stayed the last night to Asakusa region! It would be absolutely beautiful in the fall or spring!

Harajuku- this is where all the people are!

When the emperor came out and waved everyone waved flags (given for free) and yelled : bonsai....etc. Something to the effect of May you live a long and great life!

Imperial Palace here I come- the black suits are all cops/bodyguards! Emperor only comes out to greet public 2x a year - new years day and on his birthday!

just for fun!! Saw this guy at the aquarium in Ikebukuro-sunshine city!

Always working- a lot of Tokyo was shut down on Dec. 31 but some people were still working!
