Location: BotswanaThese photos are from the Okavango Delta. We went into the delta on mokoros (small boats) and camped in the middle of nowhere, with animals all around. It scared me to know that no-one had phone reception: it was a 1 hour moroko ride in, on top of a 2 hour truck ride. There was no running water, no toilet and no shower for 3 days.
Yvonne and I in the mokoro.
Our mokoro poler, Chris, helping us put the tent up (not that we needed any help).
Elephant in the distance.
Our boys preparing for our impromptu mokoro competition.
We convinced our tour leader, Jo (only other Aussie), to join in our competition. Me: well I was official time keeper with Lou.
In the middle of the delta and we have to wade through thigh-deep water.
We walked in these lines for 5 hours at a time!
Scenic flight over the delta. I had 'forgotten' how much I hated small planes until I got up there.
Wonderful sights from the scenic flight.
You could honestly spend all day waving to local kids from the truck.
I organised a shooters night. A small group of us did all the shooters from the menu.
