The line to get in to the church was long, but NOTHING like the couple of kms worth to get into the museum. We cleverly avoided that one
No these aren't the local court jesters....they are highly trained, genetically superior (!!) members of the elite Swiss Guard. A criteria is that they have to be good-looking!

The dome of St Peter's Basilica - 13m smaller than the Pantheon to respect the Romans, but big enough to fit the entire Statue of Liberty inside it with 90 feet to spare! Massive. Those letters are 8 foot high...
