Our Belguim Trip Photos

Location: Belgium

We took the car ferry to France and drove to Belguim with friends. We liked Brugge better than Brussells and the waffles and chocolates are fantastic!

Here is an Aussie shop in Brugge. It sells lots of Aussie souvenirs like Aboriginal paintings and artefacts. Tom took some photos inside and was asked to leave the shop by the owner - consequently we didn't buy anything there!

This is the Town Square in Brugge. Every city in Europe seems to have a town square dating back to the medieval days and the buildings around the square are very impressive - they remind us of the ones in Prague.

We took a carriage ride around the town and this is the horse Chico who took us. Danielle and her then boyfriend Dean came with us on that trip.

Brugge is called Little Venice because of all the canals. It is very pretty and easy to walk around. Cobbled streets and lots of little shops.

We were walking along a little street when we spied this lovely courtyard so just had to pop in and take a photo - would have loved to sit down and have some brunch here.

We were getting better at the self photos here, we even managed to get some of the background in!

Driving through Brussels, just looks like any other city really but the palace was impressive.

They had boat cruises along the canals so next time we go there we will do that and see all the buildings on the canals close up - doesn't this look nice?

This fabulous door is on a government building - you can see how huge it is in comparison to the fellow we just managed to get in the shot - how would you like a front door like this - knock knock!!

Night shopping in Brussels. We bought some Belguim lace - a parasol and an antique lace apron for Hannah - oh! and lots of waffles - yum!!

Here's that courtyard again - I really want to have our back garden look like that - if we just had the wall...and the trees...and the tables...and the plants...

This was Brussels at night - a view along the river.
