China Middle Kingdom 4

29 Aug 2007, 4:18AM

It was so hot in the Forbidden City I had to use my radley umbrella!

Forbidden City

How far is it to the top!!

Each roof in the Forbidden City was decorated with an odd number of animals for good luck.

Rachel loved this sign in Nanjing.

The Great wall stretches for miles and can be seen from space.

All the gardens visited were very calming and had some form of water feature in them.

An oap writing a welcoming sign to visitors as a form of excercise.

Another pebble picture seen at one of the gardens.

One of the many overloaded boats seen on the Grand Canal.

A fantastic model of Shanghai seen at Shanghai's Urban Planning Museum.

Sorting out the cocoons at the silk factory. Some people eat the pupa inside as it is very nutritious!
