Hattusa

Location: Corum, Turkey

... and the Black Sea

In the north of Turkey, the countryside has turned green.

Morning tea on the road, supporting a little local teahouse.

Hattusa: Temple Two, with more ancient carvings.

Hattusa: Temple One, with 3,000 year old carvings on the wall.

Hattusa: the Lion's Gate, with the top piece of its arch missing in time.

Up close to a work of art from 13th century BC.

Another entrance to Hattusa, this one is the Sphinx Gate.

The entrance to the tunnel beneath Hattusa's wall.

A recently built dam for hydro power, in the north of Turkey.

The ancient city of Hattusa, with the foundations visible in the ground.

Some of the brave souls who froze in a Black Sea swim, at Sinop. The photographer also froze.

Morning tea with a bunch of friendly locals. Absolutely no common language, but we had a good chat. And the tea was free. That's Turkey for you.
