Around my Town

Here are just a few random pictures of where I am and some of the people around me.

Some ants drinking up some juice that was spilled on the ground. Not only do they move in as soon as something is dropped, they make really cool patterns.

This is the International Airport. it is a pretty nice one compared to Dakar (although I just heard they finished building a new one there...we will see)

These are my students performing at the christmas concert we had. They did a good job.

This was a cool bug I saw just outside my class on the science room window. It was about three inches long sorry I didn't put anything to scale next to it but I wasn't going to go that close to it.

This is EZ and Rebecca.

Here is my class looking all pretty and handsome.

This is one of the many mosques here. This one is closer to the market area and is one of the bigger ones.

Anna decided to wrap her son's head like an African woman's. He didn't seem to mind and kind of liked it. It was cute.

This is one of the roads leading to the market area. The roads here are not paved totally though and this was only the way to the market but once you get closer than you hit bumpy sandy roads. They are a lot of fun when you are bouncing in the local vehicles.

These are some of the rice patties that surround the place where I live. I have to say I give these women kudos cause I know what is in the long grass and you couldn't pay me enough to walk through it or work in it.
