Kenya

Location: Africa

Part 1 of the Africa collection

The rest area of our fancy accommodation, Sopa Lodge.

Hippos swimming in Lake Naivasha, about 2 hours north-west-ish from Nairobi

Crescent Island again. We went walking around it and saw zebras, wildebeast, dik diks, waterbuck, thompson's gazelle and probably others I have forgotton. Apparently they filmed the plane crash from 'Out of Africa' here

Crescent Island, which is in Lake Naivasha

Eating all the plants

On return from safari, this girafe was hanging out at the lodge. It is actually closer than it looks, the camera seemed to zoom it out.

Lake Nakuru, famous of its sea of flamingos. They are in the distance, the camera zoom didn't quite get them up close... We were allowed out of the car in this part, but generally you have to stay inside, to avoid lions, buffalo and rhinos.

Monkeys

Buffalo

Landscape photo - buffalo resting with birds flying above.

View from baboon cliffs - the two fat tracks are for the cars, but the thinner ones are the animal paths.

Buffalo with sand storm in background. The dry season had started and there was sooo much dust.
