Rome #1

Location: USA

There were too many ancient sites to see in Rome in so little time, but we managed to visit the major attractions. I actually liked being in Rome and enjoyed myself here a lot more than the first time in 2004

Now thats a big chunk of meat..hope they didn't cut all the fat off!

Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II

Spanish Steps, it looks a bit bare, pity there weren't any pretty flowers going up the stairs

The Pantheon is the best-preserved building of its time and was built in 27 BC, so i guess its pretty old!

The downside is that its always crowded with tourists and dodgy gypsies fishing coins from the bottom

Trevi fountain - the mother of all fountains. Its definitely a masterpiece and a great spot to enjoy a gelati and admire

List of all the Popes

Petrina with St Peters Square in the background at the Vatican

View inside St Peters basilica walking around the bottom of the dome - its a long way down

St Pietra - one of the most famous catholic sculptures by Michaelangelo

Vatican gardens

View of St Peters Square from outside the dome
