Location: Rishikesh, Uttaranchal, IndiaThe capital of Yoga and Meditation in the foothills of the Himalaya - a nice place to relax for a while
Getting our palms read, apparently I'm going to be very sucessful. Excellent.
These slinky tailed Langurs rule the other side of the bridge, while red bummed Macaques are the kings on our side.
On the Suspension bridge over the Ganges, High Bank (where we are staying) in the background behind me.
Ma Ganga - or the River Ganges as we would call it. She bursts out of the Himalayan foothills here and starts her slow journey across the plains of India to emerge into the Bay of Bengal at Calcutta.
Traffic on the footbridge
Strange Disneystyle temple on the Lakshman Jhula side of the river.
The Ganges looking down towards the Swarg Ashram part of Rishikesh
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's deserted Ashram. The Beatles stayed here in 1968. In true Indian style, once caught inside the 'out of bounds' grounds, we bribed the government security guard to let us stay and have a look round!
Strange Egg like things on the roof of the abandoned Ashram buildings
Its a small world after all. Me and Rainier, a Trinidadian Shebbear Old-Boy!
Further up in the Himalaya, at Kunjapuri Temple. Annoyingly the mists meant we couldn't see the snow topped peaks that day.
