Nha Trang & Saigon

Location: Saigon, Vietnam

A few days on the beach at Nha Trang and then our last blast of a Vietnamese city in Saigon

2 Jun 2008, 3:32PM

Another huge Buddha on the crest of the hill

2 Jun 2008, 3:27PM

Colossal Buddha in 'Nirvana' position at the Pagoda in Nha Trang

Shanty huts on the river edge in Nha Trang

2 Jun 2008, 4:10PM

Looking over the river mouth towards the town of Nha Trang

3 Jun 2008, 11:45AM

Afternoon Karaoke on the boat trip in Nha Trang, this lady belted out a few numbers!

2 Jun 2008, 5:10PM

At the amazing BBQ your own seafood restaurant, well outside touristville in the Vietnamese part of Nha Trang

4 Jun 2008, 10:23AM

The cathedral in Saigon, modelled on Notre Dame complete with Bride and Groom in front

3 Jun 2008, 2:12PM

Enormous and enormously amusing additions to the sea shore on one of the islands off the coast of Nha Trang. I like particularly the undignified position of the poor Lobster.

4 Jun 2008, 1:00PM

The Lacquered reception room in the Re-unification Palace in Saigon

4 Jun 2008, 10:29AM

The Central post office in Saigon - we've noticed that colonial buildings like this are always a bit over-blown.

4 Jun 2008, 5:20PM

Eating Banh Xeo at a local restaurant in Saigon - we had three separate groups of diners helping us out with how to eat it. You break up the omelette/pancake thing wrap it in herb and salad leaves and dip it in the chilli sauce. You try doing all that with chopsticks!

Offerings and deities at the Jade Emperor Pagoda in Saigon
