My Birthday - Pisco Soured

A wonderfully random birthday in Lima....

4 Apr 2008, 7:46PM

The food was fantastic, this is a popular dish known as Cerviche. It is raw fish served in lemon juice (and other sauces).... The drink to the right is a Pisco sour, which is kind of like a margarita, and suprisingly was a favourite of you know who.

It all started innocently enough with a seafood lunch at a place Vicki had been recommended.

Main course... it just got better.

4 Apr 2008, 11:23PM

A random couple (Barbara and Toby) we starting chatting with at the next table, who were great fun. He was an opera singer and she was a theatre director in London, so obviously they were pretty excited to meet a couple of accountants from Australia. He did however share my interest in home videos... I think he was doing a David Attenborough impersonation here. Note we are the only ones still at the restaurant (it was about 5 pm).

I feel so fat.

5 Apr 2008, 12:34AM

This is when things start to go a little hazy...

She had some very interesting footwear, particularly as it was about 30 degrees.

5 Apr 2008, 12:35AM

Canīt say the same for his choice of hand bags though.

5 Apr 2008, 12:34AM

Obviously a natural performer... one of the evenings highlights was when Toby started singing me happy birthday, opera style, in a cab. The acoustic was probably not what he was accustomed to, however it was still amazing.

Time to move on to the beach to watch the sunset...
