Corcovado + Petropolis, Brazil

Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The evil monkey stalker. He followed us through the jungle and wouldn't leave us alone as we climbed - he could probably smell the bananas.

Parque Lage, in Rio at the base of Corcovado. This was the view before we started our hike up to Christ the Redeemer - you can see the statue in the background, it looks tiny from this distance.

The view from Corcovado - just amazing.

Christ the Redeemer - I had a stranger lie on the ground to take this photo :)

Petropolis - the President's holiday house.

Petropolis - the Cathedral, with really amazing stained glass.

Inside the President's house - absolutely everything was decorated and immaculate, with amazing parquet flooring, a range of artwork and huge beautifully furnished bedrooms. Apparently the current President Lula has only used the house once.
