VE, NH, ME

Location: North America

A little of this and that along our way.

8 Jun 2009, 12:25PM

Our day trip along the river. I had the perfect seat. So far the camera & I have avoided going under in NH & the San Juans Islands. I think it is time to invest in a water proof bag before my luck runs out.

9 Jun 2009, 11:24AM

We arrived at the top of Mt Washington to high winds, wind chill around 0, and 0 visibility. This is the little Cog Train that climbs the mountain using coal and man made shovelers.. at least they would be warm. The highest recorded wind in USA was registered here at 241mph and it can hit -20 to -70 degrees

One of hundreds of Covered bridges in NH. This one went to the camp site with thousands of mosquitos.

Kristin contemplating - where is the Waterfalls we followed the signs to???

5 Jun 2009, 4:36PM

View from the window K captured along the way.

A view along the Kank

9 Jun 2009, 12:19PM

The first stand of White Birch we saw. We saw a WB here and there but not in stands. I would guess at least 35% were looking bad. I did not know they were extremely fast growers but lived for only 20 years

9 Jun 2009, 2:20PM

Rumford Falls, Me. The tallest waterfalls east of Niagara with 176' vertical falls. These small electro plants are up and down the rivers and again - oh so clean. As you can see the water was not rushing over the rocks here or all other falls we have seen.
