Class 2 My Class!!!

Location: Nakuru, The Walk, Kenya

Hopefully I have snapped every kid in my class in this folder. There is an attempt of a class photo but this was very hard to organise. I took a lot of shots and some kids are just plain bord lol. Reminds me of my school picture! Sorry to put you all through that guys!

Class pic. Multiplication Lesson on the board. I have been teaching Multiplication from scratch all week and its been so fun. Most of the kids are really good at it. Its math too so I teach it all on my own without a translation becasue the kids understand enought English and its basicaly numbers!

Another kick, watch the camera!

These is the Karrati style poses I mentioned in the other folder. The boy standing more upright is Johnson. He's very clever and is usualy the first to hand his book in after a lesson. Sometimes he makes silly mistakes becasue he is rushing to finish.

Thats Virginia in the middle, she adorable and very clever, by far the brightest girl. I know its bad but I struggle with the girls names the most. There all so similar, Ann, Annet, Mary, Marion, Movelyn... I always have my seating plan out on the desk so I can remember names lol. At the start some kids were suprised when I called their names out but they didn't know I had my seating plan on my lap haha.

This is Joseph. He is quite shy but very clever. His English is good too, he always reads what I write on the board and understands a lot of my instruction and sometimes explains to the others who are clueless lol.

From left to right on both tears Phillip. ? James is my favourite (well I have two favourite boys). He is such a funny character, class joker but in a good way. John. Face covered. Johnson. ?

The boys. From left to right. John, struggles a lot but I try to keep an eye on him (needs his ears pinning back though). Not sure who the next boy is. Think this is Harry, not a big fan of his reently because I caught him hitting a girl Marion, he needs to redeem himself. Johnson. Phillip, blended into the background to start but has become more lively recently.

My two favourite boys. Clinton (ball). James, as if butter couldn't melt!

18 May 2009, 7:34AM

Left to right. Joseph. Stephen, always screams 'present teacher' when I take the register but is a nice boy. James (behind Stephen) Johnson, I think.

James, cracking pose lol. Me and James got off to a shaky start. On my first day after lunch we have 'quite time' for half an hour. Gladice left the room and James started testing me. I was on to him from the start and told him to sit down, turn round, be quite, the lot. He persisted so I got up and sat on his chair with him and said if you can't be quite I will have to sit next to you. This could have gone either way but he put his head down on his desk and behaved. Hes been a star ever since and brightens up the class. Will miss him so much. Clever too despite his cheekyness.

James on my knee. Ziporah on the other side and am unsure who is behind me.
