The journey to Agra

Location: Agra, India

Passing through the fertile, rich agricultural land, we arrived in Agra where we were surprised to again see the poverty in this most famous of cities.

Lorries are decorated to honour the god of transport.... by the side of the road are stalls selling all sorts of garlands with which to decorate the cab and the windscreen.

Well organised farming, using a variety of methods and tools.. manual labour, tractors, camels, oxen!

Sunrise at the Taj Mahal

The poverty in Agra

..and becomes magical

.....and the sun starts to appear

The Red Fort, Agra

......by the river was eerily misty

Exquisite carving inside one of the palaces.

The Red Fort is a complex of several beautiful palaces.

We took a train from Agra, another experience!

Agra is a centre for marble. The derelict outside of the buildings hide workshops of an array of wonderful and expensive marble goods
