Margaret River Area

Location: Margaret River, Australia

We explored the coast south and north of Margaret River.

The waves here were thunderous.

Gracetown and Cowaramup Beach

Flinders Bay near Augusta. We sat here whale watching.

The Ellen Bussell Homestead, lovely isolated location in Boranup Karri Forest but disappointedly nothing else there. Just a shell of a building.

The water mill near the lighthouse is calcified with limestone and was built in 1895 to supply the builders with water from the natural spring.

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse which is still operational. Antarctica is 5345kms away! The lighthouse is built at the point where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean. The sea here is treacherous and there are several memorials to those who have lost their lives in these waters.

The water here is funnelled with great speed through naturally built canals.

On the Cave Road, we found the Canal Rocks, a spectacular place.

Bussellton Pier, the longest in Western Australia

The surfing school on Yallingup Beach

The tourist train to take tourists to the end of the pier.
