North of Perth

Location: Highway 1, Australia

The journey in the motorhome begins

And our first sighting of the kangaroo. He walked across the path just ten feet in front of us and stopped and stared, as we did!

Our first stop after picking up the motorhome. This is the Pinnacles Desert near Cervantes. a lovely but eerie place as the sun is beginning to set creating long shadows from the jagged tombstone like rocks.

The leaning tree at Greenough, the southerly wind is so strong that the trees have bent over and grow at 90 degrees along the ground. Western Australia coast is generally very windy.

The stromatolites on Lake Thetis, living organisms like mini coral reefs, billions of years old.

Looking towards Geraldton Harbour.

The pristine sands on Tarcola Beach are pure white.

And it is really very pink. The colour is created by the naturally occurring beta carotene. An intriguing sight with stunning reflections.

The road to Port Gregory, a very small port originally established to serve the whalers and the mining community. It is bordered by the Hutt Lagoon known as the Pink Lake.

China Bay in Kalbarri

The coastal area of the Kalbarri National Park heading towards Kalbarri village situated at the head of the Murchison River

Dinner is cooking in the motorhome!
