Alaska, page 9

Location: Seward, USA

The journey then continued down Turnagain Sound to the port of Seward before finishing back in anchorage for the long flight home.

A fascinating place..the Independence Historical Gold Mine

Hatchers Pass

In Seward at the start line of the Iditarod Dog race.

..complete with the welcoming marmots.

Resurrection Bay, Seward

This was a disturbing sign as there was nowhere to run to!

Plenty of these in the fjords but not much else other than sea otters and bald eagles. Not that we could see much as there was very low cloud and rain compounded by the ash in the air from the forest fires. This is a temperate rainforest area so fires are common.

And one bald eagle flew over....

On the harbour front, a good place to watch the fishing vessels come in with their catch.

Seward Quayside

A musk at the Alaskan Wildlife Rescue Centre, on the Turnagain arm.

The massive RVs on the coastal path
