Jerusalem

One way to deliver goods in the covered arched streets of the Old City.

Damascus Gate at night, you can just make out a small gateway on the left which was the one that Jesus would have used.

The sacred area of the men's section of the Wailing wall. Anyone can enter but you must pick up a skull cap to cover your head. Pete declined to go!

Shops in the arches.

The horn calls worshippers to prayer

First glimpse of the men's section of the Wailing Wall, quite empty at this time of night.

A group of young celebrating.it was great to see.... It started with a circle of about eight youths and ended up with nearly a hundred.

View of the dome of the Rock beyond the Wailing Wall

The rock in front of the altar is sacred and it is where it is believed to be where the tears of Jesus fell in the garden on the night before He died. Touching the rock is a pilgrimage as the rock is thought to have imbued some of God by taking the tears of Jesus.

The Church of Gethsemane also known as the Church of Agony. This is a modern church over the place where Jesus wept and prayed to ask to be spared His fate.

And from the old way of life to that of today with the seller making pomegranate juice outside the garden.

Some olive tress have survived outside of the church. These are seven hundred years old. Many of the others were destroyed by the Romans as a way of destroying and humiliating the Jews who depended on the olive trees for their livelihood.
