My first few days trekking

Location: Nepal

Here are some views of the first few days on my way up to Mera Peak

A plane prepares to take off from the very short, sloping air strip at Lukla

A typical street scene in Lukla - you could buy just about anything here

Arrival at our first camp in the mist - Chutanga, 3050m

The view from my bedroom window at the lodge in Lukla

An acclimatisation walk up to 4000m, before returning to Chutanga

The view from my tent at 6am the next morning - worth getting up early for!

A group photo, with our first view of Mera Peak (the little pimple on the right in the background)

Morning view from our next camp, at Tuli Kharka (4320m). The views were spectacular, the loo (on the left) less so!

A lunch stop - we had freshly cooked chips!

The view up the Hinku Valley

The view of where we would be going in the next 2 days

The inside of a tiny Buddhist monastery built into the rock. This was one of those places with lots of positive energy - very moving
