Yuzen Textile Dying

Location: Kyoto, Japan

Yuzen is a style of dying textiles that developed during the Edo Period (1603-1868). Here the boys got to try this old traditional style of textile printing themselves!

You also have to be patient and wait for the next person to finish before passing the printing sheets on...

You have to hold the printing sheet really still otherwise each print doesn't match up properly.

Milan was very patient.

William can do it without looking!

Jack did a stunning piece.

This is my own master piece... well it's the best I could do.

This is s scroll explaining how it is done. Maybe you can work it out?

This is my other piece... no I shant lie. This is a professional piece of work.

This is the shop where they sell the products made by the staff. It is easier to appreciate their work once you have experienced making it yourself.
