PotteryLocation: Yokohama, JapanYesterday (19/10/2011) we went to a place where the boys learned how to make clay cups. The man who taught us was really nice and friendly. He was very helpful in making our cups look really good when we were finding it hard to make them look good.

First the man demonstrated how it is done. He really made it look so easy.
First we had to roll the clay balls until it was all smooth.
This is the beginning stage where we begin to shape the clay into a cup shape. It was more difficult than we thought.
Here we are using our pins to measure the depth of the base of the cup. It had to be about 1cm deep.
Jack and his signature pose.
Then we had to smooth out the top of the cups so that the you don't cut your mouth when you drink from it.
The instructor helped us out whenever we got stuck. He made our cups look really good.
The cup at its final stage before it is put in the oven. The red writing will go dark gray when baked.
Final photo with everyone.
