The boys final school activity was Kyudo. At Toin Gakuen this sport is only offered to the girls. However, it is also played by boys as well in Japan. Here the boys were first shown how to use the bow without arrows (I have no idea why...). Then they were taken onto the grass to shoot the targets from about 5-6m away (the normal distance is 28m). However, the boys did really well this time compared to other groups. 4 boys managed to hit the target at least once. Most groups are lucky if they hit one.
William managed to get a nice photo with his friend.
Jack always ready for a photo.
No one looked very confident at first but soon got the hang of it.
One of the girls showing us how it is done.
The girls were doing well instructing the boys in spite of their limited English. One girl seemed to take a particular liking to Jack...
Amarind improved really quickly and managed to hit the target 4 times!
William manged to get it 5 times too, Jamie got it once.
Amarind with his 5 instructors. They were so impressed with him they said they wanted him to stay in Japan.
They were shootong from 28m away and still hit the tagets. Amazing.
These girls showed us their skills at the end.
We took a funny photo this time to mix it up a bit.
