Harbin and New Year
Location: Harbin, ChinaA group of us went to a town North-East of Beijing called Harbin over the New Year. It was brilliant but very cold ... it does border with Russia!!!
The gang at Beijing train station, waiting for our overnight train to Harbin. It was a pretty messy night, not surprising seeing the drinking started before we even got on the train!!!
Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed the next day in Harbin! We may not have been able to combat the hangovers but we would certainly combat the cold in all of our gear!
It's so cold that the whole city is pretty much one big ice rink! This was a frozen river we found!
... and more ice!
Mand and Dan on one of the many ice slides we found in Harbin! It's quite surprising just how quickly one can revert to being a 12 year old when given things to play on/with!!!
New Year and ll minutes into my 25th year!!! These are a few of the other teachers Jenny, Wes and Dan!
Me and Mand on New Years Eve!
This was the amazing Harbin Ice Festival! It was a whole city made out of ice ... it was sooooo cool!!!
An ice sculpture of a dog to represent the year of the dog.
Wes and I in the ice city
The whole thing is completely made of ice!!!
