Marrakech III (April 06)

Location: Marrakech, Morocco

David, Kelly, Kathryn, Michael, Jack and Adele with the store owner. It was our first venture outside the walls of our villa and we were way-laid at the first shop for ages! Suckers!

We couldn't resist stopping at this little store just around the corner from where we were staying. I promise no-one needed to buy any!

Man and his donkey. A very regular sight throughout the maze that is the Medina.

Three pretty-coloured 'robbers', as the children happened to call them.

Marrakech was great combination of modern luxuries and old-world practices.

Kel in the middle of the madness of the postal square.

A lucky sighting of a man from the famous and now rarely seen ancient "Blue People" desert tribe. There were some very interesting items and concoctions on display...

Myself and Adele with a traditional water vendor (stung by another tourist-trap!). He got really cranky when the only cash I had to give him for the photo was equivalent to about 20p.

Kathryn, Kelly and Michael enjoying an evening stroll near a mosque.

Stalls in the main square of the Medina, "Place Djemaa El-Fna" or the "rendezvous of the dead".

Back to the Place Djemaa el-Fna. Every night this place is ablaze with the light from acetylene lamps.

Michael and I as the evening wears on.
