Marrakech IV (April 06)

Location: Marrakech, Morocco

The Hamman (traditional baths/spa) fire-stoker hard at work.

We had a day with a local guide, Hafid. Michael and an Hamman Bath fire stoker playing his traditional three-string guitar-like instrument.

A great photo of the group (except me) at Bahia Palace This palace has been the set for many a Hollywood movie in the past, including Ali Baba and His 40 Thieves.

Michael, Adele and Jack getting up close and personal with a traditional baker who turns out 100s of loaves of bread a day.

An example of the beauty and detail within the palace.

Me taking a break at Bahia Palace after far too much walking for my liking!

The three stooges nice and full after a sumptuous lunch of lamb, traditional veggies and lots of freshly baked bread!

Hafid instructing us on how to eat a traditional tagine for lunch on the upper floor of his mate's rugshop.

View from the top of the rugshop, looking toward the wool-dying district.

Hafid preparing mint-tea post lunch.

Kelly leaning out of one of the 'cells' reserved for the creme-de-la-creme of the students who attended this koranic school.
