Hey kids,

Just did a quick trip to London to take a friend over. Had 4 days of fun and drinking and catching up with people.

Had a brilliant time!

Got to meet Lisa's fiancee Troy (finally) which was awesome.

Now it's just work, and planning time.

Hope everyone is great.

I've got another cold so I'm keeping warm and dry!

Love and hugs,

Hey kids,

Just flew in this morning from 2 and a half days in Los Angeles with Kenny and Claire (who are travelling on the Vegas and New York - lucky things!).

It was a great couple of days. We arrived into LA after a non-eventful flight, found our transfers and got to our hotel in the late afternoon (on Saturday). Had some dinner (biggest burgers ever) and took a walk down to some of the stores which seem to open until 9.30/10.00 7 days a week.
I was in bed and asleep by 7.30pm and didn't even hear the fireworks which went off from Disneyland (even tho they were apparently extremely loud).
On Sunday we headed off for a full day at Disneyland which was awesome fun. Went on lots of rides and didn't have to do too much queueing which was good. Kenny has taken hundred's of pics so will wait for him to come back to add some of those.
Sunday night we went for a 100 mile walk (ok, it wasn't 100 miles but it felt similar).
Yesterday (LA time) was Monday and we spent most of the day at the other park attached to Disneyland called California and that was so so so good! Was better than Disneyland (virtually no lines and finally a BIG roller coaster) and the high light of the day being the Muppets 3 D show and having photos with Sully from Monsters Inc.
Flew home last night LA time, lost Tuesday completely due to the dateline and arrived in at 6.30am this morning.

For those of you who don't know, my parents duck-napped one of my rubber ducks when they went to Europe a couple of months ago and named him Sir Jimmy Drinksalot. They took photos of him all through Europe and presented me with a book about the adventures of my duck when they got back. I took him to Disneyland with me and hence the photos with the duck in it.

Great trip and a little sunburned... :o)

Not long until London....

Hope everyone is great.

love ,

Hey kids,

Last night Dave got down on one knee at Mission Bay beach and proposed! (I said YES!)

He very bravely asked my Dad's permission first.

Very excited and happy!

Have a great day.

Hey kids,

I have added some photos from the leaving do held for Kev and Nat who are heading to Japan shortly to live for a couple of years. Great for them (sad for us, our soccer team and our poker nights!).

I have also added a couple of photos of the recent Air NZ quiz night held at Auckland Museum. We were missing one of our normal pub quizzers so we had a great ring in to make up our team of 5. We were put with another team of 5 from another part of the company and together we were Lock Up Your Tortoise. Out of 40 teams (total of 400 people) we were victorious. I will add the photo that made the front cover of the staff internal magazine when I get hold of it.

I have added one photo of the Air NZ indoor soccer team (The Woo).

Only 17 days till Disneyland and I am so excited! Before that tho, I am starting a new job out at the Airport which I'm really looking forward to. I'm going to be a Long Haul Crew Desk Administrator; part of a team of 4 looking after around 2000 people including around 1300 crew and 300 pilots.

I think that's all for now.

Hope everyone is great.

Hey kids,

Nothing too exciting happening. Just added some photos from a couple of nights out.

Yay for me, I passed my motorcycle licence. Now I just have to sell my scooter and get a motorbike!

Heading to LA with Kenny and Claire in September for a couple of days (they are travelling around the States, I'm just waiting to go to Disneyland!) and then to London for a couple of days in October to take a friend over and also go and catch up with my sister and some friends over there.

Hope everyone is great.

Lots of love,

Me! xx

hey kids,

Thought i should add some photos to update what's been going on lately.
Actually not a lot has been going on...

Went to Melbourne a couple of weeks ago for a work famil. Was great and got to see the stage show Miss Saigon as part of it.

Had a couple of birthdays to celebrate which has been nice.

Mum and Dad have (after many, many years of planning) headed to Europe where they are currently enjoying being tourists. Feels odd to think that the rest of my immediate family are in a different hemisphere again.

Apart from that, going to sit my motorcycle licence tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Take care.

Hey kids,

Dave, Kelly, Megan and I ventured to Samoa for a long weekend over Easter.

Being a fairly religious place, everything all but closed down forcing us to lounge by the pool and drink duty-free. We were quite brave about it tho!

We did manage to have a couple of walks to the markets, but given that it was between 30+35oC+ everyday, we didn't walk much further than the local shop for soft drink top-ups for the duty free.
Did come home with some small Tapa cloths and some coconut shell hair stuff but that was about it...
We hired a 4x4 on one of the days and I drove (the others were quite brave apart from the incident with the speed hump and no warning signs....) and it wasn't too hard to get used to driving on the other side of the road.

All in all a great trip! I'd tell you more stories, but we spent 75% of our time by the pool or hanging out in the air conditioned room!

hope everyone is well.

lots of love,

Hey all,

Have updated some photos.

First was the Chinese lantern festival then a page of random photos.
The photos include some of Dave's Chch family (his Mum's side) from after his Nana's funeral, some of cocktail party I went to and also my Monopoly board...

Some of you will know that just before I left London, I found a copy of the UK monopoly board and I went around and took photos of all the street names for it.
I had to use some artist license, but it's my board so it's allowed.
Best part was the two policemen I met on the Tube who agreed to pose for me.
Huge thanks must also go out to my dear girl friends in London who agreed to pose for Community Chest. Thanks girls!

Nothing too exciting here - just poo weather and some sunshine.

Dave, Megan, Kelly and I all head to Samoa next Friday for some R & R and I'm really excited!

Hope everyone is well.

Hi all,

I have added some photos of the 30th birthday celebrations (didn't get many cause my camera ran out of batteries) up at Keri Keri which was a fantastic weekend.
We were absolutely blessed with great weather, great company and an amazing house (and tennis court and spa and pool and games room and private beach and jet ski) in which to celebrate.

There's also some photos from the following Sunday which we used to celebrate Donna's birthday (from the previous weekend) and Dave's actual birthday weekend. Rock in the Park was organised by a local radio station and featured 4 excellent bands. Again we had lovely hot weather.

Nothing too exciting apart from that. Going back to work on Thursday on the phones after 6 months as a team leader. Will be a bit weird...

Hope everyone is great.

Congratulations to Martin and Emily who got engaged in Montana a couple of days ago.

Lots of love,

Hey all,

Have added some photos of when Lisa did her quick trip home.

Was so good to see her, especially as she has not been that well.
Nothing quite like seeing someone for yourself!

Hey all,

I have added some photos of Dave and my trip to Melbourne to celebrate the 30th birthday of my good friend Julie (who I met in London). We went and stayed at a school campground about 4 hours out of Melbourne in a place called Dunkeld.
It was fantastic! I got to see kangaroos and emus relatively close up.
We went to the Dunkeld races on the Saturday which were a lot of fun. Back in Melbourne we enjoyed temps up to 36oC.
Feeling pretty sorry for the people so close to the fires tho!

Also added a couple of pics from a girls weekend up to Bayly's Beach with some good friends I used to work with and then another girls weekend the following weekend to Mt Maunganui (and one of Dave before he went on his boys weekend.

I'm working Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years day so think of me when you are off in foreign countries or at the beach.

Hope everyone is great!

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Have also added some photos of a couple of dinners.

First one was for my old team leader Monica who was leaving to go back to India.
The second is from Ange's birthday dinner a couple of weeks later. Both dinners were at Monsoon Poon in Auckland.

Seriously slack when it comes to updating this site, but have had lots on.

In the last update, I was standing in as a team leader for a week. Since the update I have completed another week as tl and am currently on a third week for a different team.
It's great to have a change of scenery and work towards different goals for work.

I have finally updated the photos page to include the 11 patty cheeseburger incident and the recent Mexican housewarming night.

Some of you may be aware of the fact that I'm in the process (with a lot of help (graphically) from Dave) of creating a website aimed at people returning from their OE's. I have had lots of help and input from lots of people which I am really grateful for. It should be up and running in the next month or so....

Hope everyone is great.
Keep checking back, as there is bound to be more photos and stories coming up soon!!!

Thursday, 15 June 2006

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Hey kids,

I'm currently being a stand-in team leader for the week which is great!

Apart from that, will add some photos of Damian's leaving drinks(where he didn't drink alcohol - um, what's wrong with this picture?) which started off well enough and ended with 2 boys walking through McDonald's drivethru asking for an 11 pattie cheeseburger each. It was both funny and disgusting at the same time and consequently, I will never eat McDonald's cheeseburgers again.

Also had some of the gang and seperately some of my team mates over for dinner (love dinner parties - so growed up and mature!). Love having a table big enough to put stuff on (ie more than two people...).

Nothing else too exciting happening. Just same old, apart from the fact that it's been bl**dy cold here!!

Take care everyone

Just adding some more photos of stuff earlier in the year.

Not too much happening here, it's turning cold and it's been raining A LOT!

My friend Axel (Aleks) from the UK (currently trying to get his Aus residency) is staying with us at the moment which is great.

Dave and I have a few days off coming up, not going anywhere (NO money), but looking forward to just hanging out and relaxing!

Other than that, nothing too exciting but that's ok. Can't be too exciting all the time!

Hope everyone is great.

lots of love,

Finally adding some of the photos that i have been sitting on for a while. Still have a few more lots to go, so please check back over the next couple of days for those.

The photos mostly speak for themselves....

Hey kids,

Time flies when you are having fun!

Dave and I have just (2 weeks ago) moved into our new house! Very exciting stuff to have a place that is ours (and we can do what we like to it!).

I will post some photos of the house and also the house warming party that we are having this weekend.

Apart from that....

I will post some photos of a wedding I went to and whatever else i can find that has been occupying my time.

Hope everyone is great.

lots of love,

Hey kids,

have been very slack with updating this website, so apologies for that. Am adding a bunch of photos so you can see what has been going on.

The first lot of photos include Dave's birthday dinner and then the night out with some of the gang at SPE on K'rd in Auckland. Was a fantastic night, but had my second ever hangover the next morning - i blame the shots....

The next lot will be a wedding of friend and then Gary and Tanya's wedding celebration.

Update on my life: Dave is in the process of buying a house. We are due to settle on the 7th of April. Will send thru some photos once we get in.
Work is pretty busy and too many calls from demanding people but aside from that......

My sister Lisa came over for 9 days a couple of weeks ago so it was fantastic catching up with her!
She has now gone back to London for at least another year which is sad for me, but good for her.

Dave and I had plans to go to Cairns in May, but those have been put on hold now we have a mortgage to think about (scary!). I might be taking a couple of guy friends up to LA and they'll go on to San Jose to go surfing at the end of May.

Apart from that.... not too much happening.

Hope everyone is well.

Hey kids,

First and foremost - HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!

Went to the Lantern Festival - (part of the Chinese New Year celebrations) at Albert Park in Auckland tonight. I went with one of my friends from work, Lisa and a couple of her friends.

The rain held off for most of the night which was great.

We headed over to Albert Park straight after work and I'm so glad we did- we got to see the dragon/lion (not sure what they are) performances and also some martial arts performances before anyone really arrived - there was maybe 200-300 people when we arrived. By the time we left, you couldn't see the performers for all the people - maybe 5-6,000 people now wandering around.

Experienced the food, the atmosphere, the culture (including Chinese opera - don't think i'll be hearing that again in a hurry), but best of all there was a free face painting tent, and when one is given the option of free face painting - no age limits, one must participate. Hence the last photo- me and my dragon....

Lisa and her friends left around 9 and i headed off after buying some candy floss..... mmmmmm candy floss.

Hope everyone is great.

Not too much happening, but thought I would add a couple of random photos to the mix.

Hope everyone is well

Thursday, 05 January 2006

Location: Auckland/Waiheke, New Zealand

I'm finally getting with the times and have created my webpage so I can put some photos up and let you know what I've been up to.

To bring you up to date:

Christmas and New Years I actually didn't have to work which was great!!
We spent Christmas brunch and afternoon at my parents, then on to Dave's parents and then Uncle and Aunty's for dinner.

On the 31st of December a group of us headed over to Waiheke Island to stay at friends Rob and Donna's nearly built house. It ended up being 25 people there that night (a few randoms came as well).
There was such stunning weather we spent some time at the park and on the beach chilling out. That night we did a whole lot of drinking to bring the new year in.
On the 1st 15 of us piled into 2 cars and went to Stoney Batter, used during the war (with 25kms of tunnels and some gun placements).
Everyone else went home that day, but Dave and I stayed on and spent some time at the beach with Rob and Donna, leaving the following day.

Now I'm back at work (0645am starts) and hanging out for the weekend.

I will be adding some photos of a recent (October) trip to England, Italy and France as well as a work trip to San Francisco. Possibly heading to Cairns with Dave in April. Trying to work out how I can take a trip to London and Paris for work (lead it, not follow)...
Watch this space....

Hi Natalie
I wish you love, laughter, health and happiness in 2008, and I am sooooo looking forward to April. Would love the honour of making a tatted (as in the handcraft type - not the old and tatty sort) blue bridal garter for your big day, if that is okay with you? Take care of yourself and each other. :)

Sounds like a great idea! That would be lovely.

Wishing you all the very best (you took all the good words!) for 2008!

Hey! You can buy something called Matte Medium, it's usually found with the paint stuff at a craft store, or an art store. Often it's used to thin paints without changing the colors, but you can use it with decoupage too. Or, a spray on laquer, or a very thin coat of polyurethene (spelling?) which you can find at a hardware store or perhaps the Art/Craft store too? hope that helps!
Response: That's awesome info! Thanks
From Lisa
