Well we are going to the Peak District while it's half term and walking.
Next summer we are going to tour Florida, Orlando, Miami, Key Largo and Key West, Naples, Fort Myers, Bonita Beach, Sarasota, Clearwater. We arrive on 6th August and hopefully (fingers crossed X) we will see the shuttle launch onthe 7th - How cool is that!
We hope to go fishing in the gulf of Mexico, diving inthe Keys and shopping in the Malls.............
Location: Scafell Pike, UK
After conquering Snowdon two years previously the girls decided to go in for the Three Peaks Challenge (to be done at a sensible pace over a six year period). So on a rather dull looking morning of 30th August Mandi, Andy, Carmen, Harrison & Marlow set off to Scafell Pike.
With no training and a rash decision the day before to actually climb it we decide to set off early the next morning backpackes filled with essentials i.e. waterproofs, warm clothes sandwiches and cidar!
It was alot harder that we had all anticipated and much harder than Snowdon. We followed the map that took us through Hollow Stones, we went rock hopping over Lingmel Beck and followed the path up Brown Tongue! (nice).
We had to keep stopping as it was hard on the legs, and they boys are only little too. Some other walkers were very encouraging telling us not far to go... wait till I see them ... it was miles!!!
The summit is a rocky one and we physically had to climb the last few meters. It was freezing cold and windy up at the top.
Time Taken: 3 hours 16 minutes - and 2 hours 30 minutes to get back down! and there was a rather nice pub inthe village!
Location: Naples, Florida, USA
This is the place we will be going to when we win the lottery!
Gorgeous white beaches, crystal clear blue sea and pastel wooden houses with porches all the way around....and most of all it's sunny nearly all of the time.
Location: Snowdon, UK
On a gorgeous warm sunny morning five rather daring travellers (Mandi, Andy, Carmen, Harrison & Marlow) set off to walk up Mount Snowdon. We took the Llanberis track up to the top following the train track all the way to the summit. The sun was out all day. We stopped for a lunch and a pre-packed Cidar at halfway house. It was a rare clear day and we could see the beautiful views for miles.
Time Taken 4 hours 39 minutes.
One of the hardest things we have ever done and the kids were only 8yrs!
